After the burgandy Marsala in 2015 and the Rose Quartz & Blue Serenity duo in 2016, the color specialists from Pantone elected “Greenery” color of the year.
What better way to kick off the new year than adopting an inspirational colour which invigorates, refreshes and gives one feelings of renewal. This year Pantone’s adoption of “Greenery” communicates these ideals.
Shirking off the last grim days of 2016, these bright shades inspire a renaissance, the new spring which is about to dawn, be it in home design or in fashion. This colour also symbolises a minimalist lifestyle, stepping away from consumerism and looking to reconnect with nature.
While I sat today, sipping a Matcha latte in Farmacy, Bayswater, surrounded by leafy ferns, I contemplated how relevant the décor is, as opulence is gradually replaced by a tendency which is more natural. Green leafy plants, a selection of healthy foods and a wonderful atmosphere have energised me before my departure to Paris Haute Couture. I wonder how many of these green hues will surface on the catwalks of next week?
In the meantime, here is a selection of a green pieces worth investing in. As Vivienne Westwood said “Buy less, choose well, make it last” a concept which is believed to have inspired Pantone to choose Greenery.
